State-level coastal monitoring with UGA Marine Extension
Community reporting for marsh health, shoreline erosion, water quality, wildlife, and debris along 100 miles of Georgia coastline. Your eyes, their science.
Join the PilotWhat the community will report.
For more than 50 years, UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant has served the state through integrated research, education, and extension programs. They have the science. They have the institutional data. What they do not have is 50,000 eyes on the coast every day.
This tool turns every fisherman, kayaker, and beachgoer into a data point. A fisherman sees a dead marsh and pins it before the research team schedules a visit. A kayaker photographs erosion that was not there last month. The data arrives faster than any survey can collect it. Their logo, their map, their data. The community handles the reporting. The researchers handle the science.
